How to workout while preventing burnout.

LIFT

The Hi-Low method of managing stressors prevents over training the cns, overloading it, which can lead to a burned out feeling, depending on your training age, plan deloads accordingly to rest your joints, cns, and train your connective tissue with the break from less intensity but more volume with moderate intensity targeting the connective tissue ( anatomical adaption) this will prevent feeling burned out, allowing you to train harder longer and safer.

Get some rocking, rolling, crawling movements in, take care of your joints while feeding your brain in an ergonomically flawed world, get in and stay in shape, train your heart to be more efficient (cardiac output training 30-60 min, exercising HR 120-150bpm) speeding recovery and increasing work capacity which will make everything that more efficient and better.

As far as feeling bored? Set some real goals. What are you exactly training for?

Rob’s Rant: The Fountain Of Youth.

I’m supposedly 39 years old, my man Barrack Obama is handling the federal investigation of such an atrocious claim! He agrees whom ever wrote my birth certificate was on crack! But it doesn’t matter, I feel I’m at my best, and I am, for one I don’t age or age hard for that matter, and that stems from enjoying this ride of life and the active lifestyle I live, and the craft beer and buffalo chicken sandwiches and cheese fries I enjoy of course. Along with prolong bouts of looking in the mirror lol…

People tell me I don’t look my age. Well no shit, I don’t for a reason and never will.

You see for as volatile as I can be I’m also still a kid at heart, Ying and yang… whatever…..

I once trained a very prominent layer when I lived in NY and I’ll never forget how he said aging is cool with a confident superior swag (oh how I hate that word but it’s fitting here) to his step. Lee was at the top of his game, enjoying the process and the journey along the way. His attitude was intoxicating, I’m glad to have been shaped by it.

I always took note of the people over the years who were petrified of aging. Looking at them now they have aged HARD. Better them than me, Fuck that. We all have had someone from the past come up to us and we couldn’t remember who they are, frayed, worn, ragged from age and lack mindset.
Be that person who looks back at their high school, college years and laughs at how they looked, not missing how they ONCE looked and felt.

It is true… So from within, as with out….
Living a purpose is the elixir of vitality and forever youth. I was watching some coaches last night coach and warm up their fighters, I love watching good coaches coach. They are living that purpose. To shape a 9yr old kids life. That’s beyond powerful.

I love hearing about and seeing people get better with age, that’s what it’s about. And if you see what they are doing, (contributing) along with giving back to themselves (working out) along with stopping and smelling the roses, as in looking at the sky, up at the stars at night, yes, they are up there, not just on your TV, feeling their steps as they walk, the phrase being present in more moments. All that makes one feel human in a world of ever growing technology that continues to take the human out of humans. The pleasure and joy from that all instills aging with grace and not caring what the number of years you supposedly are…

Are Power Punchers Born, Or Can They Be Created?

Gennady
Is punching power god given or can it be developed? God given is another phrase for genetically inclined.

Teddy Atlas recently said on ESPN 2 telecast in reference to Barry Hunter whom by the way works with real fighters everyday unlike Atlas who sits behind a mic and has well lost touch with reality and his touch with training fighters hence why nobody will hire his ass went on to state you can’t teach power or develop it in a fighter when Hunter’s goal going into that ESPN 2 show was Austin Trout displaying it, that which they have worked on in the gym.

Granted if one is more slow twitch dominated than fast twitch that will limit their power production, it is foolish to think anything is such a closed case with an athlete, and fighters are athletes and performance can be improved within them with science combined in practical workouts that strengthen the fighters weakness that can produce more punching power.

What produces power? The what the hell just happened punch that was landed? Speed yes, and that cannot be improved? Force behind that speed so that cannot be improved? It’s about the RFD (rate of force development) that’s where the science comes in AND where skill coaches who are not educated with it fail to see the Forrest from the trees with development, hence their short sited thoughts.

Also keep in mind, Charley Goldman produced the wrecking ball, power punching, shattering elbows, shoulders, and wrists when he banged on them dynamo Rocky Marciano was with a shoe lace teaching him ideal punching stance and balance!

Both skill and GPP development go hand in hand in developing bone shattering power. And one more thing that is over looked that fuels it like gasoline poured on fire, attitude.
Michael Moore when he was a destructive juggernaut light heavyweight WBO champion at 12 fights! Would lock himself in a dark room and watch violent movies, feeding his insanity and thoughts of destruction in the ring, Tyson had his own personal demons that fueled it, Sonny Liston his own nasty attitude that rubbed of on Foreman, Gerald “The G Man” McClellan a killer when he ripped that left hook to the body and had you hurt had it too.

It can be developed, perhaps not mimicked to resemble Gennady Golovkin’s whom by the way Freddie Roach told me has the best balance he has seen in a while and excellent ring generalship, but it can be improved.

What develops it though and to what extent is SPP, GPP training, attitude, and what will limit it to how much, genetic make up of slow twitch to fast twitch fibers, hence where punches are born.
