One Of The Hardest Punchers Ever: Stanley Ketchel.

Photo: One of the hardest punchers that has thus lived. He lived a fast, hard, crazy fucked up life that wouldn't last long at all....

Former middleweight champion Stanley Ketchel. Beat Jack Sullivan for the middleweight title back in 1908.

Ketchel was fucking nuts. Left home at 12. Rode the rail ways hanging and surviving at hobo jungles and mining camps forging him further into the reckless lunatic he was.

He could get very few sparring partners and when he did, they would wrap them selves in catcher mitt stuffing.

He was viscous and icy with his ring mentality and presence.

He once shot his trainer for waking him up too soon. That mentality rose him up to heavyweight to fight yjr great former heavyweight champion Jack Johnson, dropping Johnson but then got iced as Johnson jumped up and knocked him senseless with an uppercut.

Ketchel's front teeth were buried in Johnson's glove.

Ketchel was murdered when he was 24yrs young by a jealous cow hand who accused Ketchel of sleeping with his wife.

Stanley truly lived by the sword and died by it.

Back With A Vengance & Making History.

COTTO

Props to Freddie Roach and Miguel Cotto. Great fight plan and better execution of it from Cotto..

Amazing on how 1 round can win you the fight setting the tempo of it. Miguel came out sharp and hungry,, 3 knockdowns does that.

It appears Cotto has more fight left in him than Manny Pacquio. Roach’s style really fit Cotto’s strengths while also strengthening his weaknesses.

Cotto looked amazing for the wars he has been through.

Props to Sergio for displaying mad heart. He gave no excuses and gave all credit to Cotto. Class act.

It appears the well has run dry on Sergio’s once marvelous Maravilla physical gifts. He simply does not have enough boxing skill/fundamentals to compete at this level anymore without those uber reflexes and speed he once possessed.

Happy for Cotto to be the first 4 division Puerto Rican World Champion.

GREAT fighter.

Damn! Nobody expected a 1st round like that last Saturday night. That round was the fight.

Cotto displayed he still has plenty left with the right trainer and strategist in Roach.

Training Economy Defined.

Paco1

Francisco doing heavy sled drags with 4 plates. an 80lb. weight vest and 10lb ankle weights on each leg.

He drags heavy once a weak. Short distance 25 yards with 5-6 trips.

I like smooth slick boxer punchers but also very physical fighters. Fighters that inflict what they have built and posses. Fighters that the opponent will remember.

You build that raw physicality with the sled and for Francisco, at a young age is priceless.

Raise the ceiling for skill development by getting stronger. Eliminate stagnation in your performance.

Get stronger to get better and to lay the foundation, the garden, for special physical qualities to sprout and blossom from.
