Weekend Wrap Up.

I know I’m a bit late with this weekend wrap up but here we go.

Edwin Valero lived up to his hype with his impressive performance against Antonio DeMarco.

Edwin looked as good as he could against the counter punching DeMarco while suffering a huge and nasty cut.

Valero just keep the steady pressure and his power shots eventually wore DeMarco down and into submission with his corner making the right call by halting the fight.

I think that loss is only going to make Antonio better. I liked him going in and he’ll grow from this fight, he’s only 24 and there’s no shame into losing to a beast in Valero.

Sure, Valero can improve his defense, hand placement, and head movement, but considering the nasty gash over his eye, he fight pretty damn good against a kid who didn’t come to lay down.

For Edwin to go to the next level though, he needs to bring in a more seasoned trainer. Joe Goosen? Manny Steward, Jessie Reid, would all mold him into what he can eventually become… A well rounded terror. Lets see if he gets what he needs.

Glen Johnson proved he’s not quite done yet in koing Yusaf Mack in spectacular fashion last Friday night. Glen kept the pressure on and found his range for his power shots that ended Mack’s chances of a title shot.

Glen is a true old school fighter that deserves much respect! What a career and performance that night. I would be far from shocked ih he ko’s Tarvious Cloud in their upcoming fight. Glen just has so much experience and the hunger still appears there so how will the inexperienced Cloud handle that? We’ll soon see.
